The topic of today’s discussion is shower waterproofing. This is really important because showers are one of the most common sources of leaks, water damage and mold growth in a home. Did you know that tile and grout are not waterproof? I honestly didn’t until recently! Come to find out, most types are porous and moisture can seep into and under them. I just figured water damage and mold came from leaking pipes, etc. in the walls or floor under or behind tile… but it can actually come from above the tile, too! Therefore, it is really important to have an effective waterproofing system in place. And for me, it is also a must that it be non-toxic as well.
